In Marshall County, Kentucky, a 17-year-old named Conor Washburn is being called a hero after coming to the aid of an elderly woman who was involved in car crash.
Conor was sitting in his truck, waiting for a store to open, when he heard the crash. It happened not too far from where he was parked, so Conor got out of his truck, and he jumped the fence and ran to the aid of the people in the accident.
He noticed an elderly woman behind the wheel whose hand had been cut up pretty bad. Conor, who is an Eagle Scout and certified in CPR, had his first aid kit with him. He bandaged the wounds on the woman’s hand, and he waited with the woman until paramedics arrived. He is playing down his role as hero, saying that he was just the guy who happened to be in the right place when the accident happened.
