I would like to nominate Joseph Vassallo as the Hero of the Week!
Joseph is a tireless water safety advocate and pool-builder who hosts the annual, award-winning Float Like A Duck water safety program in Las Vegas. He believes it is vital to educate the public on the importance of water safety and that drowning is completely preventable.
For over a dozen years now, Joseph has worked with countless organizations and agencies to deliver his life-saving program. His message is relevant to families across the nation whether they own a pool or not.
Joseph is dedicated to this cause and has been nationally recognized for his unique kid-friendly teaching approach and his outstanding commitment to saving lives and preventing tragedies around any body of water.

I pretty much grew up with a boat house in my backyard down in Louisiana, so I take swimming for granted but I’m always amazed at how many folks just don’t know how to swim. This is a great reminder. And, if you don’t… First, knowing how could save your life someday, but second, it’s a lot of fun.
