Our Kidde Hero of the Week spotlights Blessings in a Backpack.
Recently, Kix found this story on People Magazine's website about a very special organization and wanted to share it with you!
Blessings in a Backpack is a nonprofit organization based in Louisville, Kentucky, that provides food-filled backpacks every Friday for children in hundreds of schools across 45 states.
To date, the organization has 696 schools feeding 65 thousand students. The initiative has helped to raise more than $1.5 million in donations and local funds to start even more new community programs.

Isn't that cool? I can't imagine anything better than helping to feed a lot of these kids, and there are a lot of kids across our own country here – believe it or not – in need. I bet taking that backpack home on Friday makes their weekend.
