This week's email is from John listening to us on KWJJ in Portland, Oregon.  John writes:

Dear Kix!

I’m not always so great at expressing myself.  I mean, face it, I’m a GUY!  But I just turned the big 4-0 and I think I must have turned some kind of corner in my life as well.  On my birthday I decided to call my father.  I hadn’t talked to him in over seven years…mostly because of a huge misunderstanding that involved his current wife and some other family stuff.  Anyway, I just decided that it was time to let it all go.  So I dialed the number.  The wife answered but I asked for my dad anyway.  And you know what—we talked and laughed for almost an hour as if no time had passed.  And while he’s not big on expressing his emotions either, I got the feeling that he was glad to hear from me.  And I certainly felt his love.  I’m a grown man Kix but when I hung up the phone I broke down and cried.  Tears of relief ..and happiness I guess.  Could you please play a song for my dad—he loves the classic country stuff of course. 

And he’s a HUGE George Strait fan.  Could you please play George’s song “So Much Like My Dad”?  to let my dad know how much I appreciate him…and accept him for just who he is.
